Parents and Carers Volunteering at Devoran

We recognise that parents, carers and other adults have a great deal to offer our school community and we warmly encourage you to get involved with school life at Devoran. There are many ways you can do this, for example by:
  • Helping in the classroom
  • Assisting staff on visits and activities that take place away from school
  • Helping to plan, and assist at events (performances, concerts, bake sales, school fairs etc.)
  • Fund-raising
  • Becoming a parent governor

If you have children attending our school with the time and skills involved to become a volunteer please read through our Volunteer and Parent Helpers' Induction Booklet.

You can also join our PTCA (Parent, Teacher, Community Association) who meet regularly and give valuable support to the school. Alternatively, if you are interested in becoming a governor please look out for notices on our website.

Volunteering at school benefits the children and the whole school community. It also shows the children the importance of participating in the community and affirms your interest in their development.

Before starting to help in school, prospective parents and carers volunteers must complete an application form to apply for an enhanced DBS, attend an induction meeting and sign our volunteer agreement (Both the DBS application and agreement can be found in our Volunteer Booklet). Our Volunteer Booklet sets out the school’s expectations of volunteers but, just as importantly, explains what volunteers can expect from our school.

Please contact Sharon Tippett (admin@devoranschool.co.uk) to make an application to become a parent or carer volunteer in our school.
