The governing board exists to provide strong strategic leadership to a school. The 3 core functions of the governing board are:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
- Holding the Headteacher to account for the education performance of the school, pupils and performance management of the staff;
- Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.
There is one sub-committee, which reviews Pay and Performance each year. The Chair of the sub-committee is elected by that committee.
